Atlantic View

Please scroll down to the bottom of this page for a quick glimpse at the

amenities, bed layout, pool/hot-tub status, distance to the beach, and pet policies.

This home has about the best views you can get without parking yourself in a lifeguard's chair! Three bedrooms and two baths on the first floor, two bedrooms, one bath, and a large living area extending out onto a gorgeous deck made for lounging on the second floor. The 800 square foot deck has lounge chairs and tables making it a perfect entertainment area.  You'll love it!!

All renters interested in this home need to realize that this subdivision is a family residential area and we want to be very, VERY careful about the quality and size of the groups that rent from us.  Spring Break groups, high school vacations, and all manner of non-family rentals are strictly prohibited.  Misleading us to believe otherwise results in immediate eviction and forfeiture of both the balance paid and the deposit (as we are fined heavily and have families to support as well ^_^).

This home features a fully stocked kitchen with all the appliances, large outdoor grill, full size washer/dryer, free high-speed wireless internet, unlimited local, state, and national calling (and international on request) abundant quality dishware, flatware, linens and towels.   And we just finished up our gorgeous in-ground heatable pool!!

Terry just finished a spectacular renovation of the majority of the entire home!  New furniture throughout, better lighting, new bathrooms and fresh coats of paint all around.  It looks spectacular!!

A billboard coming into St Augustine advertises miles and miles of the most beautiful beaches in the world ... and the rest is history.  We are the nation's oldest city, settled in 1565 by Spanish soldiers under Don Pedro Menendez de Aviles.

No one should miss touring the historic district, walking down St George Street, seeing how King Phillip's soldiers lived in the Castillo de San Marcos or perhaps taking a carriage ride down cobblestone streets. The Flagler era has Henry Morrison Flagler's original three luxury hotels steeped in history as well as his Memorial Presbyterian Church, the finest example of Venetian Renaissance architecture in America.

The kids will love the Alligator Farm, the oldest attraction in the state of Florida and take then on the free boat ride out to Fort Matanzas, the back door fort that ended pirate raids in 1742.

And here's our gorgeous new pool!

Home Information at a glance:

General Property Specifications: Two story home with amazing views of the ocean.  You're just one street off the beach and the home immediately in front of you is one of the older style flat homes built low into the dunes (so very little obstruction!).

Beds/Bath: In addition to three baths, the first floor has three bedrooms (1st bedroom-King, 2nd-Two Queens, 3rd-set of bunk beds (so 2 twin spots)).  The upstairs has a King in one bedroom and a Queen in the other.  There's also a sleeper sofa upstairs.   Two baths are on the first floor and one on the second.

Pool and Hot-tub situation: We just finished up our gorgeous in-ground heatable pool.  There's also a nice toasty five man hot-tub with views of the surf! Curl up in the bubbles with your beverage of choice!!  As with all our heated pools, they just burn through the utilities at a fantastic rate (roughly $100 per week of use).  We're happy to heat them on request, but we do ask $100 per week for the service.  Just let us know if you'd like us to turn it on for you!  Also, the pools aren't meant to get warmer than about 85 degrees so please don't try to heat them beyond this point.  We turn off the pool heaters from mid-April to mid-September for this reason as well.  Thanks!

Distance to Beach: In most of our homes we shy away from oceanfront properties because of their expense (double the mortgage means double the rental price, unfortunately).  You're in a fantastic location just one residential street off the beach.  Even better, the county just put in a gorgeous deck walkway over the dunes at the end of Orange Ave!  As you come out the front door, folks who've been here before know that the closest path to the beach is just to the left up the street.  But if you don't mind walking another 20 yards or so, take a right and go South.  You'll see that nice new deck walkway right at the end of the East/West street (Orange Ave).   2-3 minutes tops!  Please do read some of our renter reviews for this home - I think you'll agree that we don't get complaints about the location!  Click here for some of those reviews and click "back" to return to our website - Renter Reviews).

Furry Friends?:  This home is pet-friendly!  I have four kitty-catos myself, so I know your pets are very likely just part of the family!  As such, we wouldn't think of charging extra.  We don't charge for "extra" for kids, parents-in-laws, or Uncle Phil, so why pets?  We do charge an extra 50% deposit (i.e. $750 on the homes or $450 on the condos/townhomes), but this all comes back to you if the house is left in the same condition in which you found it.  Beware, though, that a pet problem is one of the three times we've ever kept someone's deposit (the other two were smoking in the house and general spring break destruction).  Wet-dog smell can be very difficult to remove!  Please do read our pet policies (click here for those - Pet Policies) and our security deposit FAQs page for more information (click here for those - Security Deposit FAQs).

Rates:  At Hartley and Sons, all our properties have a standard winter and summer rate.  But we also offer savings and charge a premium for various times of the year depending on our usual traffic.  We take pride in our transparency of our rates.  All the properties have a single rent price, a cleaning fee, 6% sales tax and 4% tourism tax added onto the total. Please click here for all our rate information (rates).
